Surrey restaurant wins Best Independent Fish and Chip Restaurant award
McDermott's Fish & Chips in Croydon, Surrey, has won the title of Independent Fish and Chip Restaurant of the Year Award at the National Fish & Chip Awards 2012.
Owned by Sean and Tony McDermott, McDermott's received its award, alongside winners in several other categories, from chef Richard Corrigan at an ceremony in London's Riverbank Park Plaza hotel last week.
The winners were:
First North-west: Seniors, Thornton, Lancashire
Second South-west: Hanbury's, Babbacombe
Third North-east: Quayside, Whitby, North Yorkshire
