Valentina Harris opens Amici for Christopher's

London restaurant group Christopher's has scrapped its Wandsworth restaurant Pomino and replaced it with a new venture under the direction of food writer Valentina Harris.

The newly rebranded and refurbished offering, Amici Bar and Italian Kitchen, opened earlier this month offering an informal menu of Italian fare.

A spokeswoman said Pomino closed in March following a slump in sales. "Pomino was a bit too specialist and not very accessible given the amount of families that live in the area," she said. "Valentina is in a position to give the place a real boost."

Last year Harris teamed up with south-west London French restaurant Le Petit Max as a consultant, working alongside head chef Simon Gale.
