Gaggia finds out what baristas want

Baristas rate reliability, good performance and ease of maintenance as the most important attributes of a coffee machine, according to new research.

These three features were each regarded as "very important" by 95% of the 100 professional baristas interviewed by phone in September by http://www.gaggia.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer">Reed Business Insight](http://www.rbinsight.co.uk) - part of Caterer's parent company - on behalf of coffee machine maker [Gaggia.

The other qualities viewed as "very important" were durability (94%) and good design and features (83%), followed by innovative technology (63%) and aspirational qualities (37%).

While innovative technology and aspirational qualities were "very important" for 63% and 37% of the survey respectively, they were "not important" for 9% and 19% of the sample.

"It's great to see that professional Baristas rate these attributes as highly as we do, said Vivienne Palmer from Gaggia. "As well as using innovative materials and features, our coffee machines are easy to use and deliver on performance and reliability."
