The popularity of the Tuscan recipe that sausage specialist Snowbird launched as part of a series of Italian-inspired creations for its super-premium Gourmet Plus Chipolatas range, has prompted the company to offer the sausage in an expanded range of sizes.
Originally available as a 25g cocktail sausage, the recipe can now be provided in any size requested up to 80g - although the most popular size is likely to remain the traditional "eight to the pound" formula.
The sausages, which are wrapped in collagen cases, have a meat content of 85% and make no use of extenders such as rusk or cereal.
The Tuscan taste comes from the blend of garlic, ginger, oregano, nutmeg, coriander and whole fennel seeds used to season the pork meat.
They can be microwaved or oven-heated from frozen.
