Microvac food waste system from Meiko

Helping large restaurant and hotel kitchens sidestep the significant costs of sending food waste to landfill is Meiko's Microvac system, which converts left-over food into biowaste that can be used for composting, biogas, animal feed, and sewage treatment material.

It grinds and mixes food in the food waste inlets with water and uses a high-power vacuum to suck it through the plastic soil piping to a liquid separator in the storage tank. Here water is extracted and directed to the mains drainage while the waste is taken to a sealed tank for collection.
