Buffalo mozzarella

Brakes Scotland is partnering with the Buffalo Farm, a producer of buffalo mozzarella and ciliegine (small mozzarella balls), to bring the brand's cheeses to its foodservice customers. The Buffalo Farm in Kirkcaldy owns a herd of water buffalo to produce the cheese, which is known for its creamy texture and delicate flavour.

Baked artisan swirls

La Lorraine Bakery Group has launched a range of sweet baked goods under its frozen bakery brand Panesco. Its artisan swirls are handmade from a brioche-like dough with a filling in five flavours: custard walnut, cinnamon, apple cinnamon, custard forest fruit and coconut cocoa. It also has ready-to-bake pretzel butter croissants and a mini deluxe viennoiserie mix, comprising custard rolls, raspberry jam rolls with a pink sugar topping and hazelnut almond praline fingers.

Food colourings and glitters

Ingredients supplier Henley Bridge has expanded its range of food colourings and glitters with the Rainbow Dust brand, which includes gel colourings in 20 colours, edible lustre dust in metallic, pearl and starlight finishes, powder colourings and sparkle sprays.

Santa Maria salsas

Santa Maria has launched a trio of salsas that are all vegan, gluten- and lactose-free and with no preservatives. Mexican Salsa Roja is made from chunks of red pepper, tomato and onion; Salsa Rio Grande is a deep red salsa with garlic and coriander; and Mexican Salsa Verde is made from tomatillo, green jalapeño and lime.

Tropical mango blast ice-cream

New Forest Ice Cream has launched a tropical mango blast ice-cream, combining mango ripple and white chocolate shavings with passion fruit. The ice-cream is nut-free, as are all New Forest flavours, and available in 4.75 litre tubs.

New drinks for March 2024

Niche Cocktails

Niche Cocktails has added strawberry daiquiri (250ml, 8% abv) and negroni (150ml, 14% abv) flavours to its canned ready-to-drink cocktail range. The strawberry daiquiri is a blend of rum by the English Distillery with lime, syrup and strawberries, and the negroni is made from sweet vermouth, Campari and Adnams' Copper House gin – Niche Cocktails' exclusive gin partner.

Jack Ratt Lugger Rum

Lyme Bay Winery is launching its Jack Ratt Lugger Rum portfolio in a 35cl bottle in response to customer feedback and the growing trend towards smaller spirit formats at a lower price. Both the Jack Ratt Lugger Golden Rum and the Jack Ratt Lugger Spiced Rum will be available in the 35cl size.

Nespresso Professional Brazil Organic capsules

Nespresso Professional has launched the Brazil Organic capsule, a new Arabica blend developed to complement its existing Origins Organic range. Brazil Organic is a smooth and mild coffee flavour with sweet notes.

Madame F vegan wines

Madame F, a range of vegan wines created in collaboration with LGBTQ+ charity Queer Britain, is launching in the on trade with Frizzante on Tap. Madame F sources its Frizzante (Glera, Trebbiano NV, 11% abv) from a boutique vineyard in northern Italy. The dry, straw yellow wine has fine and persistent perlage, an intense, floral and fruity aroma and an apple aftertaste.

Tango Mango

Britvic has released its latest Tango edition, Tango Mango. The sugar-free drink is available until February 2025 in a variety of formats: 330ml cans, 500ml bottles, 2 litre bottles, eight-can multipacks and 24-can multipacks.

Hartridges sparkling drinks

Hartridges is adding two new sparkling drinks to its rebranded range: elderflower pressé and traditional lemonade. The 14-strong range is made up of eight sparkling drinks and six fruit juices, all created with natural ingredients, with no artificial colours or preservatives.

New catering equipment for March 2024

Tamper-evident food packaging

Celebration Packaging has introduced a range of tamper-evident food packaging made from a minimum of 30% recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET). The range, part of Celebration Packaging's SolutionWare brand, includes salad containers with hinged lids and deli containers with separate lids, as well as a triangular sandwich pack.

Multifunctional blast chiller range

Welbilt brand Delfield is bringing its C Pro multifunctional blast chiller range to the UK. The units work as a standard blast chiller/freezer and can also slow cook and hot hold food. The Pro range can slow cook at scheduled times such as overnight, chill to 30°C and freeze to -180°C. It is available with five, 10 or 16 shelves, 10 basic job functions, 190 preloaded recipes and 20 pre-loaded combined cycles.
