Five varieties of flavoured 12g meatballs by the name of Poppers have been launched by Snowbird Foods.
The range includes beef and ginger, turkey and cranberry, fruity lamb and BBQ pork.
They are fully cooked in a factory and then frozen so that caterers can either defrost them for cold service or heat them up in a microwave. They can also be oven-baked and held under lights for long periods.
Meat content is at least 50%. The turkey variant comprises 60% of leg and breast meat, flavoured with cranberries, onion, rapeseed oil, wheat flour, herbs, garlic paste and spices. A vegetarian meatball variety is also in the pipeline.
