Re:Water becomes Lord's cricket official water supplier

Spring water company Re:Water has become official water supplier to the world's oldest cricket club.

Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), also known as Lord's, can trace its heritage back to 1787. The partnership will see the four-year old water company provide water for sale across the venue ahead of a summer of cricket, including men's and women's Ashes matches.

As part of the association, MCC said there are also licensing opportunities which will be pursued, such as creating Lord's and MCC branded water bottles. The announcement comes after MCC appointed a new sustainability and accessibility manager in November last year to continue to lead the club's sustainability objectives, such as exploring the potential to invest in solar-powered machinery and natural fertiliser.

Launched in 2019, Re:Water is water from Herefordshire bottled in 100% recycled aluminium which, in turn, can be recycled. Re:Water has supplied other high-profile organisations and events including the G7 Summit in Cornwall and COP26 in Glasgow in 2021.

Re:Water co-founder Matt Crocker said: "As a brand focused on sustainability we are thrilled to be partnering with Lord's to aid their ambitious environmental goals. Their members and visitors will be able to refill our bottles across the venue to enjoy during matches and on their journey home – eliminating thousands of single use containers every match day."

MCC commercial director, Andy Muggleton, said the club is "responsible for futureproofing for generations to come", and the partnership with Re:Water "aligns with our values and will not only reduce overall waste but contribute towards MCC's commitment to being a net zero carbon club".
