Samsung launches foodservice equipment division
Samsung Electronics has launched a new division to distribute its range of commercial foodservice equipment in the UK and Europe.
Samsung Professional Appliances will take over distribution of the company's commercial microwave ovens which range from large-capacity, super-heavy duty 1850W units down to light commercial, budget-priced 1000W models.
The company says the move to bring distribution in-house means it will be able to deliver a more dedicated, focused approach to the foodservice sector.
"The combination of quality, value and advanced technology has given Samsung a significant share of the commercial microwave oven market," said David Watts, head of Samsung Professional Appliances. "However, the brand plans to grow further. We intend to introduce new commercial microwave models and move into new product sectors in the next 12 months. Consequently it made good business sense to bring distribution in-house."
