The World Chocolate Masters competition dedicated to the art of chocolate commenced last month with a series of national selections being held around the World. The UK and Ireland pre-selection stage will take place at Westminster Kingsway College, London on the 18 February 2015.
During the UK and Ireland pre-selection, chefs will compete to be awarded the coveted title of "UK and Irish Chocolate Master", before being given the chance to represent their country at the 2015 grand international final in Paris.
The contest dedicated to the creative use of chocolate and Inspiration from Nature will require each contestant to make one chocolate showpiece and one moulded praline as well as a ‘patisserie of the day' assignment and the ‘Chocolate to go' a new concept of chocolate snack.
The four contestants competing for the coveted title of UK and Ireland Chocolate Master are:

• Mary Reid, pastry lecturer, Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology
• Norma Kelly, pastry lecturer, Dublin Institute of Technology
• Richie Heppell, head chef, RAF Leuchars
