Ultimate buys Prohibition

North England bar and nightclub operator Ultimate Leisure has bought the Prohibition group from Living Ventures for £2.75m.

Prohibition currently operates three bars in Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool, which specialise in cocktails and food.

Ultimate said the new acquisition was well-regarded and would complement its own Chase, Blubambu and Coyote Wild brands.

Chairman of Ultimate Leisure, Mark Jones, said: "Prohibition is a very highly regarded brand that fits well with our existing brands and expands our geographic presence outside our traditional heartland in the North East."

In a separate deal Ultimate Leisure has purchased a 1,500 capacity nightclub in Glasgow, which will be converted to its Blubambu format.
