Expresso strikes Hibernian deal

Expresso Hospitality, a new Scottish caterer set up by two former operations managers from Azure, Craig Stewart and Isobel Currie, has announced its second contract win - with Hibernian Football Club.

Expresso took over the £375,000-a-year contract last month from Lindley Catering. The deal includes providing corporate hospitality on match days and banqueting and conferences for up to 1,000 guests. Expresso employs 70 full- and part-time staff at the Easter Road Stadium in Edinburgh.

With start-up costs of £15,000 for equipment, Stewart and Currie set up Expresso a year ago. The pair won their first contract - with Scottish football club Motherwell FC - from their previous employer.

Stewart said the company aimed to have six high-profile Scottish venues by 2007 and planned to specialise in catering at football and racecourse events.
