Next move… for a graduate looking to start

What should I look for in a graduate recruitment programme?
Look for an organisation that offers a structured plan that's recognised in your chosen industry. Larger companies will have a dedicated human resources team which will manage graduate recruitment. Details of graduate programmes will often be on the company website, with the application procedure.

Programmes vary in length and depth of content. Ideally, a good programme should offer a balance of off-job and on-the-job development. Areas covered should include finance, human resources, all operational areas, development of people and business management skills.

The best programmes attract the best candidates. You'll need to put together a great application full of specific detail relating to the questions asked.

Be prepared for a face-to-face interview, where you'll be expected to prove you're a sound investment. Build a good knowledge of the company you're applying to and, at interview, really show commitment and enthusiasm for the opportunity.
