Six pubs in the running for Licensee of the Year
The British Institute of Innkeeping (BII) has announced the shortlist for the Licensee of the Year awards. The six firms in the running now face a judging panel in May to see who will take the prize on 7 June.
The finalists will have to demonstrate which of them has the best overall grasp of marketing, industry affairs, finance and people and training, although BII commercial and membership director Sue Allen said all six "should be extremely proud of themselves for reaching this stage of such a demanding process".
The finalists aiming to be crowned the best in the business are:
- Gerry and Ann Price from the Inn West End in West End, between Camberley and Woking
- Andrew Fishwick from the Truscott Arms in Maida Vale, London
- Rob and Lucy Brewer at the Rashleigh Arms in St. Austell, Cornwall
- Glen Duckett at the Eagle & Child in Ramsbottom, Bury
- Mel Carus at the Metropolitan in West Didsbury, Manchester
- Glen Pearson at the Shibden Mill in Halifax
Alongside the ultimate winner, all finalists will be presented with trophies at the BII Summer Event on 7th June.
