Meat & Shake to open Watford site

Smokehouse restaurant group Meat & Shake will open its third site next month in Watford.

The 140-cover restaurant, located in the intu shopping centre, will be the group's largest at 3,200 sq ft and will act as the flagship store.

It will open in mid-October and follows on from the recent launch of the Ealing, west London branch, which opened this August.

The company opened its first site in Tooting, south London in late 2013.

Faraz Ahmad, owner of Meat and Shake, said: "This is a particularly exciting and busy time for us. After the success of our first restaurant in Tooting, we've had lots of opportunities to open more, but we have been careful in making sure we've picked the right site for us.

"Operationally, opening up two sites in close proximity will be a challenge but I think we'll be up to the task."

Meat & Shake's menu has been developed by executive chef Jasper Aykroyd, who draws from his experience in the curing and flavouring of meats.

Dishes will include par-cured beef ribs and smoked chicken. The menu will also feature a variety of milkshakes and a range of mocktails.
