A look at the latest food, drink and equipment to hit the market.

The Oxford Charcoal Company supplies charcoal made from sustainably sourced British trees, such as birch, oak, sweet chestnut, cherry, hazel and apple. The charcoal is made in small batches, has no chemical additives and imparts a subtle flavour to grilled food.

Doctor Seaweed’s Weed & Wonderful Scottish seaweed-infused rapeseed oil can be drizzled over salad leaves and steamed vegetables or used in a stir-fry. The smoked seaweed oil is for chefs wishing to experiment with intensely smoky and umami flavours, to add in the final stages of cooking or drizzled over a finished dish.

Oatly Oat Drink Barista Edition is an oat-based milk that can be foamed for hot drinks or tastes just as good on cereal or as an ingredient. It’s made with 100% Swedish oats and enriched with calcium and fibre. Oatly Fraiche is a plant-based alternative to crème fraîche, again made with oats, and with only 6% saturated fat.

Luscombe Drinks has launched a new range of sparkling fruit waters in three flavours: passion fruit, sour cherry and raspberry, in 27cl glass bottles. The waters are made using carbonated Devon spring water and organic, responsibly sourced fruit with no artificial flavours, additives, sweeteners or preservatives, at fewer than 15 calories per 100ml.

Lancashire Farm Dairies is the first UK yogurt producer to use free-range milk in all its yogurt products. It now offers its natural and fruit yogurt in mango and strawberry flavours in 85g and 125g formats for foodservice.
