Anchor Trust announces chef winners of its Care Services Awards

Two chefs have been honoured for their work at the Grand Final of Anchor Trust's Care Services Awards.

The awards recognised the pair for culinary excellence at the national ceremony that celebrated extraordinary contributions to improving the lives of older people.

Kim Hart, chef manager at Chantry House care home, was named Anchor Homes' Chef of the Year after a two-hour cook-off.

Sue Sides, catering manager at Eagle House care home beat competition from across the country to be named Caterer of the Year.

Jane Ashcroft, managing director of Care Services at Anchor Trust, said: "Food is so important in a care home. It provides the residents with much needed nutrition but also creates a real sense of community."

There were over 350 nominations in the two regional finals for Anchor's Care Services Awards and broadcaster Angela Rippon was on hand to present the awards.
