Caterers bid for £10.4m Cisco business

Contract caterers have been invited to bid for $16.1m (£10.4m) of business with network equipment manufacturer Cisco Systems.

The catering opportunities with Cisco are spread across four UK sites as well as Dublin, Galway, Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris.

BaxterStorey is the incumbent caterer in the UK and Ireland, while Compass Group's Eurest manages services in Paris and French rival Sodexo looks after the sites in the Dutch and Belgian capitals.

Facilities management firm Johnson Controls is managing the tender process. An industry insider told Caterer that the awards are expected to be announced by September, but added that there was unlikely to be any changes of operators.

"It will be a rapid tender process with very little detail being given about each site, which is a shame because it doesn't give caterers the opportunity to make informed decisions," he explained.
