Centerplate announces new food, beverage and service at Portsmouth FC
Foodservice firm Centerplate has introduced a new food and beverage menu and service system as part of its new multi-million pound kiosk partnership with Portsmouth FC.
The new measures to be introduced this season at Fratton Park include improvements on the stadium classics, such as a high-quality pork hot dog, a better burger, and improved ingredients for the steak and ale, Balti and cheese and onion pies.
New bar service points will be created, which will also serve Portsmouth FC's own lager, named Belhaven Pompey, as well as Strongbow cider and Greene King IPA.
There will also be increased service locations for food throughout, with the aim to increase overall service speed. All Centerplate team members will be issued with "Portsmouth blue" uniforms and be trained in gracious and friendly service via the company's Centerplate University online learning tool.
Gill Rimell will lead the public catering operation, having worked at Centerplate for 15 years, with experience at venues including Millwall and Watford.
Commenting on the new plans, Centerplate's UK vice-president of operations Jeff Tandberg, said: "We really can't wait to open up the new season at such a great stadium, on a site with such a rich history and local tradition."
Anna Mitchell, Portsmouth FC's head of sponsorship and commercial partnerships, added: "We have been working closely with Centerplate to upgrade our menu and improve the speed of service, which will create a higher quality, more convenient matchday experience for our exceptional fans."
Live event hospitality company Centerplate operates contracts across more than 350 entertainment, sports, and convention venues across the USA, Europe and UK, serving more than 115 million guests a year.
