Chef and author Ronald Kinton to speak at charity lunch

Chef and author Ronald Kinton will be the guest speaker at a charity lunch at the four-AA-star Langham hotel in Eastbourne to raise funds for Hospitality Action.

Kinton, now 93, has been writing books for chefs for more than 50 years. His books, including Practical Cookery, The Theory of Catering, Kitchen & Larderwork, Food Preparation & Cooking, and Patisserie & Confectionery, have sold millions of copies. He agreed to speak about his life at the lunch, which will take place on 27 October.

Neil Kirby, proprietor of the Langham hotel, said: "I hope that a lot of chefs will come to the lunch as it will be a rare opportunity to meet him."

Kinton will also be working closely with Michael Titherington, the hotel's head chef, on the menu for the day. "There will be some fabulous food and wines being served," added Kirby.

The lunch costs £32 per person, and bookings can be made by calling 01323 731451 or email frontdesk@langhamhotel.co.uk
