Design sets the stage for Hotelympia 2014

With a new date in the diary (28 April - 1 May) and a brand new four-day format, a number of new innovations are set to be unveiled at Hotelympia 2014.

‘Design at Hotelympia' a show-within-a-show, will include a dedicated seminar programme and exhibitor line-up of the very best in hospitality interior design. It will also feature the return of the Hotelympia Design Award along with the Design Lounge.

The content for the design theatre has been developed in partnership with the Society of British and International Design (SBID), and will include a line-up of high profile speakers to discuss and debate hot topics and trends including: design across the pond, Asia, the future of hotel design, cutting edge lighting, first impressions, kitchens, the new consumer and the evolution of new materials.

The Hotelympia Design Award 2014 will focus its attention to the UK's best designed new hotel. The award is open to all operators and designers who have launched a hotel within the last two years (since January 2012) and this could be a new build, rebrand or retrofit.

Stirling Johnstone, Design at Hotelympia curator, added: "With brand new space, and a programme to put other shows in the shade, Design at Hotelympia will be the place to source the very latest products, glean vital inspiration and learn more about the trends setting the agenda. We're of course delighted to have the backing of the SBID - an incredibly important association that works tirelessly to serve its members. It's tremendously exciting to be working in partnership with them to bring the design fraternity a show that will live long in the memory."

Entries for the design award are set to open at the end of October via www.hotelympia.com
