Pabulum wins three-year deal at London primary school
Independent caterer Pabulum has won a three-year deal at Ivydale Primary School in south east London, worth in excess of £240,000.
The Nunhead school is the latest to join Pabulum's growing portfolio of education contracts as a result of the firm's ethical approach to catering.
Head teacher Helen Ingham said that Ivydale, which previously managed its food service internally, is keen to ensure the school's 350 pupils are offered appealing and nutritionally balanced meals.
"Pabulum has a reputation of providing great tasting food that ticks all the right boxes when it comes to quality and sustainability" she explained. "We like the fact that Pabulum is prepared to work with us in educating the children about the benefits of healthy eating."
In order to encourage a balanced diet in school children, Pabulum last year launched the Healthy Bunch initiative - a series of cartoon animal characters that promote the benefits of good food and healthy nutrition.
Ingham added: "Obviously outsourcing our catering is a big step for Ivydale but, for us, the Healthy Bunch epitomises Pabulum's commitment to this important aspect of children's lives."
