Sodexo celebrates its staff at annual Star Awards
Sodexo has celebrated the achievements of its staff at the company's annual Star Awards Ceremony held at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel, London.
The awards, now in their 30th year, recognise outstanding achievement by Sodexo staff from across the business. The winners included Donna Sharpe who beat over 40,000 employees to win the 2010 Employee of the Year Award.
Sharpe works as a chef at Doncaster Deaf Trust and she won the award for her tireless efforts over the last year to provide great food and excellent service to a broad spectrum of onsite customers, including those with multiple allergies, diverse religious beliefs and special educational needs that require a range of alternative menu options.
Andy Wilcox from Cheadle Hulme School was declared Chef of the Year, and the New Manager of the Year Award went to Rob Trewick, Sodexo Defence services manager, who was praised for his knowledge of his client and the way he embraced change.
Other awards included the Chief Executive's Award, Continuous Improvement Award and Trainee Chef of the Year Award.
Hosted by television and radio presenter Gabby Logan, the evening saw the prize-giving led by chief executive, Aidan Connolly and corporate affairs director, Phil Hooper.
Connolly said: "Events like this confirm the strength and depth of our organisation. The talent and expertise of our teams make us stand out as the best."
Sodexo ambassador Matt Dawson and chef Peter Gordon were also on hand to congratulate the winners.
