Talkington Bates celebrates double catering contract win

Talkington Bates has won new catering business with sheltered housing and extra care provider Retail Trust worth £500,000.

The rolling contract will see the caterer provide breakfast and lunch services for residents at three sites, in London, Derby and Manchester. The company saw off competition from seven other foodservice firms to scoop the deal.

Fiona Hopkinson, managing director of Talkington Bates Midlands & Care, said: "The fact that we came out on top in a highly-competitive pitch situation highlights our quality and targeted approach.

"Flexibility is key in the care sector because every site has very specific needs. We go that extra mile for residents by offering a bespoke service that reflects their individual needs by, for example, offering nutritional information and advice. We cater for a range of dietary requirements, taking account of ethnic and cultural food needs."

This latest win comes hot on the heels of another a new catering contract at the Bracknell headquarters of Avis & Budget Rental. Worth £700,000 over three years, the contract is to is for provide catering for 500 employees based at the Berkshire site through a seven-strong team led by recently appointed chef manager Ricardo Grech.
