TUCO set for 300-mile charity cycle
The University Caterers Organisation (TUCO) has organised a 300-mile cycle from Manchester to Exeter to raise money for Hospitality Action and the riders' personal choice of charity.
Cyclists will be on the road for four days in July and will need to cover around 75 miles a day to ensure they make the start of TUCO's annual conference.
TUCO members including some of its directors have already signed up for the ride, which the organisation hopes will raise thousands of pounds for charity.
Julie Barker, chair of TUCO, said: "Some serious training is going to be needed for some of us but it's an incredible challenge that will not only push us to our physical limits but enable us to make a difference to people's lives and that is a powerful reason for doing it."
"There will probably be a lot of sweat and tears, but what better way to arrive at the 2016 conference… as long as we all make it in one piece."
TUCO is inviting members, suppliers and industry professionals to get behind the initiative and help the organisation raise money for causes, which benefits thousands of people across the Hospitality sector.
TUCO's annual conference will be held at the University of Exeter from 25 to 27 July.
