Win Duralex tempered glassware worth £1,500

The iconic range of tough, tempered glassware from Duralex is now available from Artis, the UK's leading supplier of glassware and tableware.

To celebrate, Artis is offering Caterer and Hotelkeeper readers the chance to win £1,500-worth of Duralex tempered glassware.

All Duralex products are produced from tempered glass, meaning they are extremely durable and highly resistant to breakage and thermal shock.

The tempering process is what makes Duralex so tough: glass must be heated to around 700°C and then rapidly cooled by air in order to be classified as tempered.

The resulting tempered glassware will resist temperatures of up to 130°C - this means that all Duralex items can be used for "oven to table"/hot beverage service and are extremely resistant to thermal shock - tempered glass is about 2.5 times more resistant to breakage and thermal shock than standard annealed glass of the same thickness. It is the same process used to make vehicle windows which, in the event of an impact or accident, shatter into thousands of non-cutting pieces.

The full range of UK-stocked Duralex tempered glassware can be viewed at www.artis-uk.com/duralex.
