AA's friendliest B&B is the Old Railway Yard in Redruth
Greeting guests on first name terms and serving cream teas on arrival has earned the Old Railway Yard in Redruth, Cornwall, the title of friendliest bed and breakfast of the year in the AA Bed and Breakfast (B&B) Awards 2015.
Owners Graham Collier and Suzanne Wilson received their accolade at the AA B&B Awards 2015 celebratory lunch at the Landmark London hotel. The three-bedroom B&B was created on the site of Collier's former blacksmith business.
The couple described their win as "a privilege and an honour". Collier said: "For the Old Railway Yard to be a finalist in the AA Friendliest B&B Award is truly amazing, but to win is fantastic."
Simon Numphud, head of hotel services, said the "fantastic range" of establishments judged by the AA demonstrates the strength and depth of the B&B market in the UK. "The quality and individuality really stand out underpinned by great hospitality from their respective, highly committed and passionate owners," he added.
