Ashley Ely to leave Chewton Glen for the Zetter hotel

Ashley Ely is to leave his role as hotel director at Chewton Glen to become general manager at the Zetter hotel.

He will be replaced by Mark Bevan, who is currently general manager at the hotel in the New Forest, Hampshire.

Having spent 10 years at Chewton Glen, Ely said the time was right to move to pastures new.

He added: "I have had an incredible time, worked with many exceptional colleagues, and of course welcomed and spent time with lots of wonderful guests. It was a great pleasure to work for Mr & Mrs Skan, albeit only for two years, and I am proud to have been part of the continued success of Chewton Glen under The Livingstones."

Ely will begin his role as general manager at the Zetter hotel in August.

He said: "This is a new challenge for me, in the London market, in a very different style of property. The hotel is part of a young, dynamic and growing small group and it is a very exciting prospect for me."
