Landmark Newcastle hotel up for sale
The landmark Vermont Hotel in Newcastle city centre has been put on the market for £9m.
Colliers International and Christie & Co are acting as joint agents on the sale of the former Northumberland County Council headquarters.
The Vermont opened for business in 1993 and trades as an AA four-star hotel operated under direct management. It is located in the centre of Newcastle City centre adjacent to the Newcastle Law Courts (Moot Hall) and Newcastle Castle.
Julian Troup, Head of UK Hotels Agency at Colliers International, said: "This is an outstanding high-profile hotel instruction that has unsurprisingly attracted a considerable amount of interest from the short-list of targeted buyers that were initially approached in a confidential fashion.
"The hotel is being made available due to the impending retirement of the owner of the hotel, whose group also owns the Baltimore Hotel Middlesbrough and the Portland Hotel Hull."
Colliers International is inviting offers in excess of £9m for the hotel. The Baltimore and Portland Hotels are also on the market through Julian Troup at Colliers International and Jonathan Parrish at Christie & Co.
