Refurbished restaurant at Lime Wood to be called Hartnett Holder & Co
The dining room at Lime Wood, near Lyndhurst, Hampshire, will re-launch in February as a relaxed, informal operation called Hartnett Holder & Co.
Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnett will join forces with Lime Wood's head chef Luke Holder to oversee the menu which will serve "chefs' home-cooked food, not chefs' food cooked for restaurants."
Meanwhile the restaurant, created by Martin Brudnizki, who has previously designed London restaurants Le Caprice, J Sheekey's, Corrigan's Mayfair and Hix, intends to be a space which guests will treat as their own country pad.
The brief to Brudnizki from Lime Wood's chairman Robin Hutson was to design a restaurant where"fine dining and big plates are banned".
Dark oak distressed-look tables will be clad with simple, unfussy brushed silver cutlery and silver "Wee Willie Winkie" candle sticks, while small plates and bowls will be frequently used, from which guests will be encouraged to share and taste.
The restaurant will have a central bar, with meats hanging from a wine gantry and a meat slicer and coffee machine in full view of guests - all reflecting Hartnett and Holder's Italian influences, as well as providing some theatre.
Harnett Holder & Co will open on 11 February.
