New group snaps up London bars

London's second-largest collection of late-night bars has been sold to a newly formed company, Soho Clubs and Bars, for an undisclosed sum.

The portfolio consists of seven properties, all within quarter of a mile of Piccadilly Circus, and will be run by nightclub operator Jeremy Gordeno.

The new company's bars are Cheers on Regent Street, Jewel on Glasshouse Street, Bar Soho on Old Compton Street, Lvpo on Dean Street, Village Soho on Wardour Street, Mai Tai on Shaftesbury Avenue and the Shadow Lounge on Brewer Street.

Davis Coffer Lyons negotiated the sale for the bars' previous owner, Ken Todd.

A spokeswoman for the new company said business would continue as usual. The new company is believed to be backed by private investors.
