Cornish restaurant and bistro seeks new owner

The Hayloft restaurant and bistro in Lower Clicker, Cornwall, has been put on the market for the first time in 17 years.

Truro-based chartered surveyor Miller Commercial is seeking offers of around £695,000 for the freehold.

The property is three miles east of Liskeard in Cornwall and adjacent to the A38 at the junction to Menheniot station and village.

It comprises a bar lounge and bistro with two main dining areas that can seat a total of 90 customers.

The restaurant currently trades through the year but closes for one night per week in the winter.

Along with car parking facilities and lawned gardens, the property offers three-bedroomed staff accommodation along with an owners' residence with four to five bedrooms.

"The Hayloft enjoys considerable prominence in view of its roadside profile," said Russell Weetch, head of business transfer at Miller Commercial.

"It attracts considerable local goodwill and, additionally, standing as it does only some six miles from Looe means there is holiday accommodation locally, which brings tourists to the restaurant in the summer months."
