Duncan Pitfield appointed UK operations director at Hakkasan
Restaurant firm Hakkasan Group has appointed Duncan Pitfield as its new UK operations director.
Pitfield (pictured) will oversee all of the company's UK restaurants and new launches as part of the role.
He won a Catey in 2008 when he was presented with the Manager of the Year award for his work opening and running D&D's Skylon restaurant.
Hakkasan Group's acting CEO, Didier Souillat said: "We are thrilled to welcome Duncan to the company and look forward to working with him during this exciting time of growth for the company. His passion for employing and developing talented professionals within the hospitality industry will help to further develop and strengthen our company's high standards."
Pitfield's first position for D&D was as general manager at the Royal Exchange, where he oversaw the design and opening of the Restaurant Sauterelle. His last role as senior general manager saw him hold responsibility for several of the group's restaurants, including the Blueprint Café and Le Pont de la Tour. He also opened the Old Bengal Warehouse development in September 2012.
The Hakkasan Group owns and operates six restaurants in London showcasing Japanese and Chinese cuisine, including the Michelin-starred Hakkasan Hanway Place, Hakkasan Mayfair and Yauatcha. In 2011 the group also acquired Sake no Hana in Mayfair and opened HKK in late 2012.
