Prescott & Conran's Lutyens restaurant to open two new bars
City restaurant Lutyens is to launch two new bars next month.
The Prescott & Conran-owned restaurant will open the new Lutyens Wine Bar on 3 September and the Lutyens Cocktail Bar on 27 September.
The wine bar will be run by head sommelier Romain Audrerie and his team and will offer 40 different wines by the glass as well as a new menu created by new head chef Henrik Ritzen.
The wines will be split into two main categories: Young & Exciting, a selection all about inexpensive wines and new styles from emerging winemakers or wine regions; and Fine & Rare, offering glasses or pichet de vins of renowned wines from great estates.
Ritzen has created an accompanying food menu for the wine bar, including a range of charcuterie, oysters and cheese, as well as tartines, small tasting plates, sharing dishes and plats du jour.
Meanwhile, the Lutyens cocktail bar will open downstairs in the space that previously formed part of the private members' club. The new bar will be open to the public from 5pm to midnight, Monday to Friday.
Lutyens opened in 2009 in the former Reuters building on Fleet Street as the second venture from Sir Terence Conran and Peter Prescott, who also run the Boundary in Shoreditch.
