Russia's Samarqand to open first London restaurant
Russian restaurant group Samarqand is to make its UK debut in London after signing a property in Marylebone.
The group, which has four outlets in Moscow, plans to open a themed Russian restaurant in property company Starclass's Marylebone South Development.
Samarqand will be serving a Central Asian and Eastern Chinese cuisine aimed at the 280,000 Russian residents living in London.
The 4,100 sq ft site has been let on 25-year lease with five-year reviews at £120,000 per annum in a deal handled by property agent Davis Coffer Lyons.
The restaurant takes its name from the city Samarqand, which was one of the first developed cities of Central Asia located on the Silk Route.
