Search is on for 2005 Ramsay Scholar

After just four years, the Gordon Ramsay Scholar has already become one of the most sought-after titles on the circuit.

If you're the person to succeed 2004 scholar Marcus Eaves of Hibiscus restaurant in Ludlow, Shropshire, then now's the time to apply.

The competition is divided into two categories: the main competition open to young chefs working in the UK or Ireland, and another for students studying in a UK or Irish college. All applicants need to be 25 or younger on 19 September 2005.

From the paper judging, 30 chefs will be selected to compete in a series of four heats, with nine progressing through to the grand final in September, to be joined by the student who wins the college final.

Among the Ramsay Scholar's spoils are a cash prize of £3,000, plus work placements abroad.

Closing date for entries is 17 June. For further information and entry forms go to www.gordonramsay.com, or e-mail ramsayscholar@gordonramsay.com.
