TGI Friday's secures £2m-a-year Leicester Square site
TGI Friday's has secured a new 10,000 sq ft restaurant site in Leicester Square, currently occupied by pub brand Yates's.
The restaurant sits beneath the Capital Radio offices on Leicester Square and is planned to be the chain's 70th site when it opens in the first half of 2016. Yates's is expected to stop operating the site at the end of this year.
Criterion Capital, the largest landlord in the Leicester Square/Piccadilly area, is letting the site for a rent believed to be in the region of £2m a year for a 25-year lease.
Karen Forrester, TGI Fridays UK chief executive said: "We are incredibly excited to be expanding the ever-increasing Fridays family, and opening our flagship store in London's vibrant Leicester Square.
"Well known as the UK's centre for entertainment and fun, it was precisely these attributes that attracted us to the site. We will fit in perfectly."
Criterion Capital was advised by Nash Bond and Savills.
