The Crab Quay House, a new restaurant, bar and deli next to the fish market in Brixham, Devon, is set to open next week.
Completing the fish market and commercial harbour's £22m regeneration, the Crab Quay House is owned by the Ormond Hospitality Group, which also owns the Glassblowing House Restaurant in Plymouth. It will feature a 90-seat restaurant as well as a 50-cover balcony overlooking the harbour, a bar and deli operation.
Head chef is Kevin Robertson-Wells, who previously ran the English House Restaurant in Lichfield Staffordshire. His all-day British menu will include dishes such as seared scallops with slow-roast pork belly, and real ale battered fish and chips with tartar sauce. Average spend will be £25 at dinner.
Roberston-Wells said: "We are exceptionally lucky to be in the same building as Brixham's world famous fish market, it allows our chef team to create fresh, innovative and stimulating dishes that represent the concept of the restaurant: local, modern and fresh."
Meanwhile the deli will offer a range of local produce, bakery goods and cold meats and will also include a cheese counter and a fresh fish counter managed by Andrew Wall, who will hold demonstrations.
Suzanne Ley, manager at the Crab Quay House, commented: "The restaurant is looking amazing, with a bespoke Cornish slate feature wall and, of course, stunning views of Brixham's famous inner and outer harbour. We have fantastic local suppliers who are just as passionate about food as we are."
