The Yorkshire Meatball Co to expand and revamp menu
The Yorkshire Meatball Co is expanding, including a new restaurant in York and a pop-up residency at an independent pub in Harrogate.
The move coincides with the overhaul of the group's menu to achieve a more laid-back and relaxed style, focusing more on the meatballs, plus a selection of ‘meatball subs' and ‘while you wait' nibbles.
The new 75-cover York restaurant is 144 sq m, and has been opened in partnership with the Hotel Indigo York. The second pop-up residency will be short-term, and take place at Harrogate pub 10 Devonshire Place, which also seeks to support local ales and craft beers.
Claiming to be the UK's first speciality meatball and craft beer brand, the group was first launched in Harrogate in 2014 by father-and-son David and Gareth Atkinson, and focuses on meatballs, Yorkshire craft beers and ales.
In February this year, the group announced that it would like to expand, and had eyes on Leeds as well as potentially further afield, with David Atkinson joking at the time that they would "even consider Lancashire!"
