Details Premium chocolate and conservation company Original Beans, which sources its Cru Virunga chocolate from the Democratic Republic of Congo, has announced a new project to work with women's co-operatives.
The project, supported by the UK's Department for International Development, will help women improve their incomes and livelihoods by growing a sustainable supply of premium cacao. The cacao partnership focuses on Virunga National Park in North Kivu, a World Heritage site and home to the last mountain gorillas in the world.
