PG Tips monkey to climb London's Shard for Comic Relief

PG Tips' monkey mascot is set to scale the top part of the 310m-high London Shard this month to raise money for this year's Red Nose Day.

The 1ft tall monkey's 70m mission will be the focus of a Comic Relief Day Campaign by PG Tips, an official partner of this year's Red Nose Day.

The monkey will also be appearing in a Comic Relief themed ad campaign for PG Tips from brand owner Unilever Food Solutions.

UFS and food industry partners including Compass and Aramark plan to raise thousands of pounds for the charity on the back of the monkey's efforts, with special fundraising activity toolkit for caterers.

Emma Quinn, Unilever Food Solutions category manager for tea said the company would make a 50p donation to Comic Relief for each special 1,150 pack of PG Tips sold. Those who buy two packs can claim a free, limited edition mini-monkey in a new stunt suit.

The theme of this year's Red Nose Day, which takes place on 13 March, will be "Make your Face Funny For Money".
