Molson Coors appoints Simon Cox as new managing director for UK and Ireland

Brewing giant Molson Coors has appointed Simon Cox as its new managing director for the UK and Ireland.

Cox has previously worked as managing director of the independent on-premise and wholesale for Molson Coors (UK & Ireland).

The move comes after Molson Coors formed Molson Coors Europe, its new business unit, made up of existing businesses in the UK and Ireland and its recently-acquired businesses in nine Central European countries.

Mark Hunter, CEO of Molson Coors Europe, said: "Simon has been instrumental in strengthening Molson Coors' portfolio and customer-orientation in the UK and Ireland in recent years and has the right balance of experience and determination that we need to see beer get back on the front foot in this crucial market.

"I'm delighted to see Simon take on the leadership role as managing director (UK & Ireland) and wish him every success in his new role."
