Second hotel for Crescent Group
Crescent Group is to open its second boutique hotel, the 18-bedroom Crescent Turner Whitstable, tomorrow (17 October).
It follows the launch of the group's first hotel, the 14-bedroom Crescent Victoria Margate, in June.
The Turner, which has views over the town's famed oyster beds out to sea, also offers guests use of a beach hut, called Sundowner, with kitchen, barbecue and three canoes. Further bedrooms, sea-view lodges and a cookery academy are planned in the next phase of the Crescent Turner's development.
Bespoke Hotels will manage the Crescent Turner and doubles will start at £99 per night for two on a B&B basis.
"We are fulfilling an important need in the town, for a location for weddings and celebrations, alongside a place for those from farther afield," said general manager Toni Spasovski.
"There is a Kent renaissance with day-trippers, many from London, heading for the Kentish coast for the day but then having to head home. The Crescent Victoria and now the Crescent Turner are fulfilling a need for places to stay while also providing a boutique and very British experience."
Overseeing the restaurants in both hotels is head chef Mark Kember a Whitstable local, who has worked in kitchens at the Waldorf and Hilton Park Lane in London. The menu will feature classic British dishes and where possible, ingredients will be sourced from Whitstable and Kent producers.
