Fiona Moores appointed GM of new Pig hotel
Moores will join the hotel in early 2016 from her current position as general manager at the Magdalan Chapter hotel in Exeter. The Magdalen Chapter and sister hotel, the Montpellier Chapter in Cheltenham - owned by Hong Kong-based Swire Properties - are currently being marketed for sale.
Moores was the opening general manager at the Magdalen Chapter when it launched in 2012, having previously run the hotel since 2002 under its former guise as the Hotel Barcelona under the ownership of the Alias Hotel Group.
Her appointment follows the announcement last week that Sarah Holden has been promoted from restaurant manager to hotel director at sister hotel, the Pig near Bath, replacing Tom Ross who has moved into the new role of operations director - Bath and Combe.
Other new appointments for Home Grown Hotels, parent company of the Pig brand, include Arlene Scott who joins the group as director of people from the Maybourne Hotel Group in London.
Meanwhile, Vikki Herram has been promoted internally from financial controller to group financial controller, having joined the company in 2013 from accountancy firm Ernst and Young.
Located within a Grade I-listed Elizabethan manor house on a 3,500 acre estate, the Pig at Combe is being expanded from a 20-bedroom property to a hotel with around 33 bedrooms. Prior to being taken over by Home Grown Hotels earlier this month, the property was run by Ken and Ruth Hunt since 1998.
The Pig hotel group, founded by Robin Hutson in 2011, currently numbers four properties in the New Forest, Southampton, Bath and Studland bay.
