Tomas Kubart promoted to role of maître d' at Bar Boulud
Tomas Kubart has been named as the new maître d' at Bar Boulud in London's Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park hotel.
Announcing Kubart's promotion from Bar Boulud's assistant restaurant manager to maître d', Manadarin Oriental said: "Having been with us since the restaurant's opening in 2010, Tomas's passion for hospitality, his relentless energy and his commitment to guest care are as familiar to our guests as his welcoming smile and personable demeanour."
Kubart has a long history with Mandarin Oriental, having started his career in hospitality as a waiter at Mandarin Oriental, Prague. Kubart was later taken on to the company's F&B management trainee programme and in 2013 he was promoted to head waiter at Bar Boulud, rising to assistant restaurant manager in October 2014.
Kubart follows in the footsteps of former maître d' Paulo de Tarso who recently left Bar Boulud to open his own Italian restaurant, with fellow restaurateur Nicolas Jaouën. The new restaurant, dubbed Margot, is set to open in September this year.
