Catering Academy appoints Simon Willis as managing director of client services
Catering Academy has appointed Simon Willis as managing director of client services in response to ongoing growth that sees the business expect to hit £30m turnover this year.
Willis joins the independent contract caterer from Harrison Catering, where he carried out the role of director of client services for over nine years.
His catering career spans more than 30 years and began as a chef in the army. Willis's new role will also see him join the Catering Academy board.
Commenting on his new role, Willis said that he bought into the company's ethos and aspirations as soon as he met Catering Academy owners Kevin Cannon, Louise Wymer and Stacey Rose.
"My primary focus will be to maintain and grow an enviable reputation for delivering outstanding food service, working alongside a team of like-minded people equally passionate and focused on personally delivering excellence."
Founder and operations director Wymer will step out of the day-to-day running of the contracts and focus on strategic development.
She added: "The company has grown at such a rate that the board decided somebody senior should take over the daily operations of the client contracts.
"We were extremely fortunate to find someone of Simon's calibre and experience and were delighted when he agreed to join Team Academy in a new role of managing director of client services."
