Chefs and catering managers remain confident with their meat suppliers
A recent survey completed over the past week on JRA Research's Chefs Panel shows widespread confidence amongst those surveyed about their meat suppliers, despite recent revelations about horsemeat being found in beef products in the meat supply chain.
The interviews which were conducted between 12 and 18 February featured a sample of 180 chefs and catering managers and found that more than half of the chefs express enough confidence with their suppliers to have taken no action so far, with most others confident after checks had been made.
Fewer than one in 10 had reacted by either changing their supplier or making menu changes as a result of concerns over the scandal.
The online Chefs Panel was run by JRA Research who has been actively involved in conducting research into the food service sector for more than 20 years.
JRA Research will continue to track issues such as this, along with other developing trends in the food service sector, via its syndicated Caterpoll survey.
