Hospitality firms win at CIPD People Management Awards
Several hospitality firms have come away with awards from the CIPD People Management Awards 2014, including people engagement specialists Purple Cubed, and De Vere Hotels and Village Urban Resorts.
De Vere Hotels picked up the award for Best Recruitment and Talent Management Initiative, while Bourne Leisure took home the prize for HR Team of the Year (250+ employees).
Meanwhile, Purple Cubed picked up the HR Consultancy of the Year award, which recognises the role consultants play in helping organisations deliver business impact through people.
The judges particularly praised Purple Cubed for helping De Vere Hotels and Village Urban Resorts create and embed a vibrant employer brand, including the design and implementation of an innovative online talent and communications platform, Talent Toolbox.
Jo Harley, lead director at Purple Cubed said: "We are absolutely thrilled to have been named the CIPD's HR Consultancy of the Year for our work with De Vere Hotels and Village Urban Resorts. A project which saw significant results including a £3m increase in EBITDA, £400,000 in recruitment savings and more than halving labour turnover. As people became more engaged, ideas were generated from all levels of the organisation. One of these alone saved the organisation £500,000 pa.
"We do things differently at Purple Cubed and are not a ‘typical' HR consultancy. It's therefore an honour to receive this accolade and be recognised as a business which achieves real outcomes through strong and simple HR strategies combined with cutting-edge technology."
The Dorchester Collection was also highly commended for Best Employee Engagement Initiative at the awards.
