White tea for health from Twinings
Sales of healthy teas soared by 30% in 2006 and white tea - believed to be packed with even more beneficial phyto-nutrients than the green varieties - is expected to drive sales even higher. Twinings has lined up its own storm in a tea cup for the food service sector with two premium versions of the pale gold, delicately-flavoured beverage - Twinings Pure White Tea and the fruitier Twinings White Tea and Pomegranate. The tea is made from the young buds and leaf tips of the plants that are grown in China's Fujian province and, unlike black or green teas, are steamed before drying to keep the tea as close as possible to its natural state. The two varieties are supplied in four x 20 individually-wrapped envelopes.
