Bob van den Oord has been named regional vice-president, operations, for Europe, Middle East and US for Langham Hospitality Group.

An expansion of his current role of managing director of the Langham, London, van den Oord will now also be responsible for a number of hotels in the US as well as the opening of the Langham, San Francisco, in a new building designed by Renzo Piano and scheduled to open before 2023.

Van den Oord joined the Langham London in November 2015 from Hong Kong where he was managing director and vice president brands (global) for Langham Hospitality Group. The hotel has undergone a three-year renovation under his stewardship.

As regional vice-president, operations, he will remain responsible for the Langham, London, but in addition will work to maximise brand awareness and the financial growth of hotels in his regions.

Van den Oord said: "The next few years will be exciting and memorable for Langham Hospitality Group.

"While I will be overseeing the ongoing development in the US, Europe and the Middle East will be a particular focus for me, as we are constantly striving to find perfect opportunities for the group's expansion in these regions too."
